Once you’re on the floor, focus on doing your job properly. You don’t need to be the fastest person there on day one. It’s better to work at a steady pace and get things right, especially when picking or packing orders. Mistakes slow everyone down, so accuracy counts.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re unsure. No one expects you to know everything, and it’s much better to check than guess. At the same time, showing a bit of initiative, like helping out where needed or keeping your area tidy can really set you apart.
At the end of the day, warehouse teams are looking for people who are reliable, easy to work with, and willing to put in the effort. If you can show that from your first shift, you will give yourself the best chance of getting asked back.
